Peek & Cloppenburg K.g., Berlin 1942 - Large octavo. Unpaginated. [28]pp. Original illustrated wrappers. This work is a scarce pictorial study of the Peek & Cloppenburg uniform factory during WWII. The 15 striking color photographs by Dr. Paul Wolff depict busy shop floors; bales of cloth; men working on steam presses; a man stacking the finished uniforms; women applying finishing touches to blue grey uniforms for the Luftwaffe (German air force). The photographs featured in this booklet were used in the book "Uniformen und Soldaten" by Curt Ehrlich, published earlier in the same year (1942). Also includes 7 illustrations by Theo Matejko, a renown Viennese illustrator who gave an almost photographic rendering of battlefield scenes, uniforms, airplanes, U-boats and ships at sea.OCLC only lists two library owning this work worldwide (both in Germany).Minor age toning along edges of wrappers. Slight folding crease throughout. Some offsetting to pages facing a color photograph. Text in German. Wrappers and interior in overall good+ to very good condition.
