New Naturalist No. 71 BRITISH WARBLERS
Collins, London 1985 - pp. 432, first edition, first state copy. 6 colour plates, numerous b/w photographs and b/w diagrams & maps. Dust jacket near fine, bright and fresh, very slight fading to the spine when compared to the front panel, protected in the original publisher's protective "Duraseal" sleeve which has a few very small creases, not price-clipped. Green Buckram boards fine with bright gilt. Contents clean and tight, no inscriptions. A near fine first edition, first state, copy. A near fine copy of what is considered to be the rarest of all New Naturalists. (This is the First Edition First State of which only 725 copies were printed. Collins were unable to fulfil orders for the hardback edition, so subsequently bound up an additional 500 copies from stripped paperbacks, and these are referred to as second state copies. Second State copies are distinguised principally from the first state by being a few mm. shorter and are bound in pea-green "Linson" embossed paper-cloth rather than dark green, slightly shiny buckram. Additionally the dust jacket was not covered in a plastic "Duraseal" protector, unlike the first state edition) Size: 8vo [Attributes: First Edition; Soft Cover]
