EDITION UNKNOWN 1766, 8vo, approximately 200 x 120 mm, 8 x 4¾ inches, engraved frontispiece of The Fall, 15 engraved plates to the Old Testament, 2 folding, and 7 to the New Testament, in 2 parts, Part II. Containing an account of the life and travels of our blessed saviour and his apostles, pages: [4], 193, [1]; 1 - 82, separate pagination for New Testament, register is continuous. Bound in half leather over marbled boards, amateur reback without lettering or label. Corners worn, marbled paper slightly rubbed, frontispiece laid on old paper, age - browning throughout, heavy in places, no loss of legibility, most plates affected only in the margins, ink name at top of title page, small closed vertical tear to 3 inner margins, very neatly repaired, small repair to lower corner of B4, no loss of text, folding plate at page 22 repaired and strengthened at outer edge, H7 is reinserted and slightly uneven and dusty along the edges. Acceptable copy. Abridged Bible "being chiefly intended for the Use of Families, and the Young and Unlearned, Brevity has been studied, and the Narration carried on in the plainest and most concise Manner, so as to include the History of 5000 Years ..." from To the Reader.
