An excellent copy. Monochrome frontispiece and 12 plates. First edition, first printing, of a groundbreaking study by the American social researcher and reformer Mary van Kleeck (1883-1972), "a dynamic and influential figure in the investigation and improvement of labour conditions in the first half of the 20th century" (Encyclopaedia Britannica).
