Los Angeles, Calif 1955 - 49 pp. contract, 1 p. notarization and 7 pp. revised synopsis by the studio, with amendments through February 23, 1959. In all, 57 pp. 1 vols. 4to. Dorothy Dandridge in Hollywood. A complex contract with the legendary Dandridge and the studio, coming on the heels of her triumph in Carmen Jones, for which she won an Academy Award nomination for best actress - the first Afro-American woman to be so honored. The two films eventually became Island in the Sun (1957), with James Mason, Joan Collins, Joan Fontaine, and Harry Belafonte; and Scent of Danger (later Moment of Danger, 1960), which was her next-to-last appearance in film, before her tragic death in 1965. Punch holes in left margin, a few creases. Overall, very good 49 pp. contract, 1 p. notarization and 7 pp. revised synopsis by the studio, with amendments through February 23, 1959. In all, 57 pp. 1 vols. 4to
