Printed by William Stansby for Henry Fetherstone. 3rd edition, 1617. Large quarto (11.25 x 8 inches 29 x 20 cm), ca. 1750s or earlier full brown calf with double blind ruled border, raised bands, red gilt spine label, (36) 1102 (40) pp. Good copy, some rubbing to leather, joints firm, light half inch loss to leather to both upper and lower spine ends, lacks front flyleaf and any blanks preceeding title page, wear and loss to title page and first couple pages, with 3 x 5 inch corner loss to top outer corner of title page, marginal upper corner loss to next few pages, very mild yellowish tide-mark from old damp staining to first third of text, and minor yellowish tide mark to lower margin to some pages, but generally contents are very good, clean, unmarked. We love how the section on AMERICA begins: 'Now are wee shipped for the New World, and new Discoveries. But seeing this Inkie Sea, through which I undertake a Pilots office to conduct my Readers, is more peaceable then That, which on the back-side of this American World, was called the Peaceable, by Magelanne the first Discoverer...'. Good.
