Robert Freke Gould; Rev. Herbert Poole (ed)
Gould's History of Freemasonry
London: Caxton Publishing Company, 1952. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 10" by 7.5". Various. A four volume set of this revised edition of Gould's History of Freemasonry. Including seventy-four plates, collated complete, the books here make for an hugely extensive and comprehensive history of the organisation, written initially by Robert Freke Gould, and updated here by The Reverend Herbert Poole, Past Master and Secretary of Quatuor Coronati Lodge. The books cover Freemasonry in Great Britain and Ireland, as well as its then colonies and dominions, as well as The United States. In cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally quite smart, there is some markings to the boards, as well as wear to the extremities and backstrips. The hinge to volume one is strained. Internally, the pages are firmly bound and are bright and clean throughout, aside from some foxing to the endpages. Very Good Indeed
