The Earl of Monmouth was the first to translate this work into English. ESTC No R19277. Collated using the ESTC collation, appears to be lacking the final 5 unnumbered leaves, 2 of which are blank. The other three leaves may have been publisher's adverts as the work itself is complete. The third edition, corrected. Trajano Boccalini was an Italian satirist. This work is his most important and is a satire on the writings of Boccalini's contemporaries. The plot sees Apollo represented as receiving complaints of all who present themselves and distributes justice according to the merits of each particular case. The Ragguagli was first published in 1612 and has seen numerous translations across several languages. CONDITION In a full calf binding. Rebacked, with the original boards preserved.
