1790. Condition: Very good. [FRENCH REVOLUTION - POLITICAL PUBLICATIONS - PAMPHLETS] Antoine-Francois LEMAIRE 1758-18 .. Journalist; librarian; printer-bookseller. Native of Montargis (Loiret). Clerk at the Paris Post Office. Member of the Jacobins. Published in 1789 or 1790. Close to the Girondins from 1792. Member of the electoral assembly of Paris from September 2, 1792; elector of the Quatre-Nations section. Editor and collaborator of several revolutionary newspapers. On August 16, 1792, he founded the "Courrier de l'Égalité", to which he contributed until August 1793. Appointed Dec. 1793 librarian in Bergerac (Dordogne), where he seems to have lived during the time of the Terror. Back in Paris in 1794 or 1795, he resumed his journalistic activities: from June 19, 1795 to May 6, 1796, editor of the "Journal du bonhomme Richard"; from Oct. 10 to Dec. 3 1797, editor of the "French Patriot" ... Editor of the "French Citizen" (Nov. 15, 1799 - Oct. 17, 1804). Also engaged in printing, from 1795 to 1804 at least We sell here the 50 first issues of a famous and extremely rare revolutionary publication (out of the 400 issues published in all between 1790 and 1792) COLLECTION HEAD OF THE RARE FATHER DUCHENE DE LEMAIRE. The latter claims to have been the inventor of Father Duchêne. Contrary to Hébert's journal, his sheet shows vigor and gaiety without ever engaging in violence or indecency.
