[7], 2-536, [2] pp. Later green morocco with the spine in six compartments, gold rules to the boards and spine, spine lettered in gilt, all edges gilt; blue and purple marbled endpapers and pastedowns. Illustrated bookplate on the front pastedown. Gaskell 32. Oxford DNB, "Robert Andrews". The first work printed by Baskerville was the works of Virgil published in Latin (in 1757). This is the first and only Baskerville edition of Robert Andrews' Virgil. The most significant translation put forth by the eighteenth century Presbyterian minister, beautifully published by a master of the printing press. Very Good. A Very Good or better copy with the spine mellowed to brown and a very faint circular impression on the front board, leaves are largely clean with only minor foxing. [Attributes: First Edition]
