Amstelodami: Joannis Janssonii, 1651. I am limited to 12 photos on eBay, but I have many more photos on my website...just ask. Hans Vredeman de Vries was a prominent Dutch architect who is best known for his 16th-century treatises on perspective and ornamental architecture. In 1604 he published his 'Theory and Practice of Perspective', a work which instructed architects on construction, optics, and building design. The impressive double-page plates designed by Hendrik Hondius depict architectural views, arches, stairwells and staircases, columns, ceilings, and roofs. This edition was published in 1651, two parts in one.
