Estienne, Henri
Ciceronianum lexicon græcolatinum. Id est, lexicon ex variis græcorum scriptorum locis à Cicerone interpretatis collectum
Ex Officina Henrici Stephani, 1557. Small 8vo, pp. [16], 111, [1], 200; **8 A-G8 a-m8 n4; bound with: Estienne, Henri, In M.T. Ciceronis Quãplurimos Locoscastigationes, [Geneva]: Ex Officina Henrici Stephani, 1557, pp. [6], 114; a-g8 h4; together in early 20th-century vellum over decorative paper-covered boards, brown gilt-lettered morocco spine label; small ink stain to spine foot, occasional marginal worming affecting a few letters without loss of meaning, else very good and sound. The first title consists of the author's first original work, a Greek-Latin lexicon of words, phrases, and expressions taken from the Greek of Cicero; the second section of this brief work is of all the Greek texts, with Cicero's Latin translation in parallel; the second title is a collection of comments and corrections made to the text of Cicero. "Although Renouard states that [In M.T. Ciceronis] forms one volume with [Ciceronianum Lexicon Græcilatinum], it is in fact quite separate and distinct from it, having its own title page and preface. The two works are found bound together as often as they are not," (Schreiber). Adams S1755 & S1778; Renouard, p. 116, no. 4; Schreiber 143 & 144.
