A rather scarce medical book by the German physician Christian Marcgrave The work discusses illness from the viewpoint of the physiological chemistry of Sylvius. The causes and cures for various maladies are displayed in the form of tables. Second edition, much expanded, of a work first published in 1673. Christian Marcgrave was the brother of Georg Marcgrave [1610 - 1644], the celebrated German Naturalist and Astronomer who published pioneering work on the natural history of Brazil. This work Includes an 8 pp. tribute to his brother, entitledVita Georgii Marggravii.
