Extremely RARE German Bible - Old Testament printed in 1723 and New Testament in 1716 - In a beautiful original binding Known as the Marburg Bible with a nice Frontispiece - contains at least 3 title pages Marburg Bible is the name given to an edition of the holy Scriptures, published at Marburg in 1712 under the care of Prof. Dr. Horch (with the aid of others, particularly of inspector Scheffer, in Berleburg). It contains the text of Luther's, corrected by comparison with the original texts, and gives, in the introductions and in the headings, commentaries on the most important allegories and prophecies (by Cocceius). The most complete of these are the notes on Solomon's Song and the Apocalypse. It was highly prized by the theologians and Mystics of that time, and was the predecessor of the Mystic Berleburg Bible (1726-74).
