James Baldwin
Nobody Knows My Name James Baldwin 1961 Signed First Edition 1st Printing VG/VG
1961. Baldwin, James. Nobody Knows My Name: More Notes of Native Son. New York: The Dial Press, 1961. 8vo., original quarter cloth with marbled paperboards. 241 pp. First edition, first printing, with no statement of printing on the copyright page (later printings all state). A good, honest copy of Baldwin's second landmark collection of essays which plumb the meanings of race, class, the American Nation, and sexuality. Baldwin's masterful prose is on display in every page. Upon reading even one of the essay's it becomes obvious why he remains such a vital force in American letters and politics. Very good in like dust jacket, bumping and shelfwear to each, most notably at the crown of the spine. Additional photos happily supplied upon request. All inquiries will receive a prompt reply.
