The essays to the first section of this work trace the career and characters of both men. The second part is a collection of important letters illustrative of Pitt's career. The essays on Napoleon assist the reader in understanding the context in which Pitt was involved. Written by John Holland Rose, an influential historian. His biographical work on Napoleon is famous. In a full cloth binding with gilt stamping to the spine. Externally, generally smart with some bumping to the head and tail of spine and to the extremities. Light rubbing to the joints and to the head and tail of spine. Spine has faded. Offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, some remain uncut. The odd spot throughout. Very Good
