Hull: Thomas Lee, 1796. It is embellished with superb engravings .It was written by John Tickell of Hedon and was printed and sold by Thomas Lee & Co , also for T Browne , Richard Millson Booksellers and GW Browne Stationer .This is leather bound in its original binding , the front cover is present but detached , the spine has the title it reads Tickells History of Hull in gilt lettering on the side .There are 940 pages , plus numerous engravings / plates plus an index.It is complete and readable , it does have some wear and discolouring and some wear .Bearing in mind this is over 225 years old it is a nice book. 1796 Antiquarian Leather Book Tickells History of Kingston Upon Hull Engravings. The full title page reads - History of the Town and County of Kingston Upon Hull from its foundation in the reign of Edward the First to the present time . With a description of part of the adjacent country embellished with engraved views of public buildings , an ancient and modern plan of the Town and several antiquities by the Reverend John Tickell of Hedon . There is an introduction about William Wilberforce . It includes a large number of plates / engravings / illustrations . These include Fold out map or plan of The South East view of Kingston Upon Hull from the River Humber. The seal of the Priory of Cottingham Yorkshire. East view of St Augustine's Monastery.
