Privately printed and [published for the Maison Quantin, 1887. Limited to 550 copies, this no. 533. Folio. xxii, 243p. "A new translation with a new preface by the author." Illustrated with 40 photogravures and etchings by Albert Lynch (1851-1912). Each chapter head with a drawing by Lynch in heliogravure by Dumont and printed in various colors. Extra color pictorial title page. Bound for Asprey in full navy crushed morocco with marbled endpapers, a.e.g., the spine in six panels with gilt titles and floral ornaments. Crisp as new in fleece-lined slipcase. Dumas' novel was the source for the story of the opera La Traviata.
