This is the first printing (1912) of this work by the French mathematician who is considered "a pioneer in the study of financial mathematics and stochastic processes." (Wikipedia) There is modest rubbing to the edges and corners and the name of an early owner written in ink neatly to the front free endpage, "William J. Cahill, Harvard April, 1923." The book weighs nearly 6 pounds and there is just the slightest loosening in the binding. This is otherwise a quite attractive example of this early and important treatise on math and the science of probabilities. There is the bookseller ticket of "G.
