BIKINI GIRL MAGAZINES with signed letter from the artist/publisher LISA BAUMGARDNER Includes Issue #5, issue #6 and issue #8 With hand written note - from Lisa Baumgardner (aka Lisa Falour) Issue #8 includes a pair of cardboard 3-d glasses. Issue #5 is signed and numbered 648/1000 (signed by Deena Schwartzbaum). Issue #6 includes an audio recording and has a nondescript cover (signed by Deena Schwartzbaum). Lisa Baumgardner & Deena Schwartzbaum (believed to be a the same person - pseudonym) produced Bikini Girl from 1978 to 1990 on the Lower East Side in New York City. Bikini Girl included rambling interviews with anyone, from Gerard Malanga to neighborhood characters, and printed grainy photos of the Mudd Club scene (David Byrne talking with Klaus Nomi, for example). These are pretty RARE and hard to find - These magazines were sent directly from BIKINI GIRL in 1992 and are offered as pictured. An amazing range of writers and artists are found here, such as Jack Goldstein, Harry Smith, Jack Handey (Deep Thoughts), and Lynne Tillman.
