UNCLE TOM'S CABIN. A Tale of Life Among the Lowly.
Grosset and Dunlap, New York, NY, 1925. 448 pages of text, followed by [ii] pages of publisher's advertisement. The date of publication is not stated, but is estimated to be circa 1925. Green cloth binding with white and black lettering and decoration is in near fine condition, with minor crimping to the spine and a small blemish to the rear board. Includes the original publisher's box and glassine wrapper. Previous owner's bookplate affixed neatly to the front endpaper, and another bookplate laid-in loose both of noted bookplate collector and Harriet Beecher Stowe collector T. Henry Foster (Thomas Henry Foster (1875-1951). One of the bookplates was made by J. W. Jameson is titled "Stowiana" and depicts and African American man reading a book. The other bookplate depicts a "Tom" caricature of a well-dressed servant balancing books on his head. Difficult to find in this condition. Early reprint edition. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
