Missing the two scarce shaded geologic maps, as is common. Rebacked using original spine and boards. Some surface staining to boards, gilt rubbed. Edges rubbed, corners bumped. This first book to deal with the Colorado River predates Powell's exploration by 10 years. The Ives report is also one of the first descriptions of the Grand Canyon and of the area's native inhabitants.
