It details his capture and subsequent escape from a Boer prison that made him famous in the UK. After his escape he joined the army as well as continuing as a war correspondent and was involved in lifting the seige of Ladysmith and taking of Pretoria. Hardback light brown covers with black and red lettering to cover with a picture of an armoured train, gilt lettering to spine.
