Die Chunky Burgunder Chronik Of Diebold Schilling Von Bern
1480. Magnificent facsimile of the manuscript of La Grande Chronique bourguignonne by Schilling Le Vieux (from Berne), kept at the Central Library in Zürich (Nr. A 5), which, produced around 1480, is the third and last volume in the Official History of the city of Bern and represents the most important source of information on the wars of Burgundy. The particularly beautiful and interesting miniatures depict very detailed scenes of sieges, battles and camp life. The full leather binding (25 * 39 cm.) Hand sewn corresponds exactly to the original, with its cold pressings and its two metal clasps, the notebooks were cut and then sewn together by hand, just like for original. The circulation of this edition was limited to 980 copies, this one bearing the number 529. We find the usual volume of commentary, co-written by several specialists; the text is in german and is 306 pages, it is bound in half-leather and editor fabric. Very nice copy.
