Limited Editions Club, New York, 1932. Small folio (8-1/2" x 13") bound in full blind-stamped brown leather. Illustrated with beautiful line drawings and full-page color plates by Miguel Covarrubias. Of a total of 1500 copies SIGNED by the artist on the colophon page, this copy is not numbered (in place of the number is written in ink "Office Copy") and bears the Club's blindstamp stating it is one of 15 presentation copies. Laid in is the proof of one of the pages with a penciled comment in the upper corner in an unidentified hand about the page's appearance. The first African novel to portray Black Africans as they are and not as white men in blackface. Slight rubbing to the spine and corners with a small strip of leather peeled off on the rear cover.
