Ernest Hemingway
Across the River and Into the Trees
USA: Scribner's, 1950. First Edition/First Printing with the Scribner's "A" and seal on the copyright page, in the first issue dust jacket with yellow lettering on the spine. A Near Fine book in a Near Fine dust jacket. SIGNED and inscribed by the author on the front free end paper. An extraordinary copy of this novel by the legendary author; scarce in the first issue in near fine or better condition, particularly signed by Hemingway. This copy is in near fine condition with a crisp, tight binding, clean black boards, and bright white pages; the book does show some mild fading to the spine lettering and some light shelf wear to the spine ends and board edges. Housed in a vibrant first issue, original, near fine dust jacket that is clean and bright but does show one small closed tear to the top of the front panel and some very light rubbing to the spine ends and edges, flap folds, and corners, else fine. Housed in an elegant custom clamshell case, with the jacket also protected in a Mylar cover. An absolutely outstanding copy of this book, extremely scarce in the first issue and signed; a bucket list item for the 20th century literature collector and the Hemingway specialist! Not price clipped ($3.00 intact), and not ex-library; will ship carefully wrapped and in a sturdy box.
