This is the very important 1718 edition of Clement's epistles, particularly regarding the second epistle, which recently had been found in manuscript at Oxford by the Royal Librarian, Patrick Young. Sir Henry Wotton, the distinguished editor of this volume, re-examined the manuscript and Young's editing and produced this esteemed scholar edition praised by the Cyclopedia of Biblical Literature as "very correct". This edition became the prime scholarly edition, still referred to in literature. It was handsomely printed by the University Press at Cambridge; with handsome Greek typefaces, with facing Latin translations, numerous detailed footnotes, with occasional notes in a fine Hebrew typeface as well.
