1914. Book: Shakespeare's Comedy of A Midsummer-Night's Dream, with illustrations by William Heath Robinson. One of a very edition of 250 copies. This copy is signed and numbered by W.Heath Robinson on the limitation page. Published by Constable & Company in London, no date but circa 1914. Illustrated with 12 full colour chromolithograph plates and with 32 black-and-white drawings, and additional line vignettes. In recent full gilt vellum with gilt decoration to upper board and spine, the design after drawings by Heath Robinson. Top Edge Gilt, others uncut or rough-cut. The text on English hand-made, watermarked paper. The colour plates under captioned tissues. Book condition: FINE externally. Limitation page and pages adjacent to plate mounts with scattered pale spotting. A few spots and some slight staining in margins to a few text pages, two tissues with light folds, page edges browned as is typical to books of this age with deckled (uncut) page edges, top gilt edge slightly tarnished. Overall a bright, lovely copy. The lithograph plates are in excelent condition.
