NP, East Kent, 1910. Quarto. Unpaginated. [6] thick cardstock leaves, as issued. Original gilt-, and blind-stamped burgundy cloth, with gold lettering to spine. Striking collection of 24 original silver gelatin prints documenting the opening of a fox-hunting season in East Kent, a hunting ground located in south-eastern England. The photographs show the hunting party at the following fox-covers: Ashley-wood, Tye Wood, Denton Court, Waldershare Park, Knowlton Court, Dingleden Wood, and Breack Down. Some photographs depict: The first cub (young fox) of the season; A kill after a good run; Weighing the fox; Calling hounds out of covert; The hunting party at Littlebourne, Acrise Mill, and Lyminge Station. There are four mounted photographs per leaf (two on each side), with each silver-gelatin print measuring appr. 3 1/4 x 5 6/8 inches. The cardstock leaves have been hand-captioned underneath each photograph. Moderate rubbing along edges of binding. Spine age-toned, with fraying at head. Leaves disbound from the album, but present. Moderate foxing and age-toning along paper margin. Binding in overall fair, interior in good, silver gelatin prints in near fine to fine condition. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
