Antwerp: Plantijn, 1569. 2 large works 'Ex officina Plantiniana' ( Seneca Opera + one more ) + 1 post-Incunabula published in 1569 from Bartalomeo de Carranza, Archbischop of Toledo during reign of Carlos V and Fillipe II. 3 important books from 16th and 17th century : 2 from the famouse printer house 'Plantijn' in Antwerp ( including the monumental Lipsius edition of Seneca from 1652 ) + an important book by the Archbishop of Toledo during the reign of Carlos V and Fillipe II , published in 1569 1) Bartolomé de Carranza - Summa omnium Conciliorum, a Sancto Petro usque ad Pium quartum Pontificem, omnibus sacrae scripturae studiosis utilissima - Antwerp, J. Stelsius Witwe u. Erben, 1569 - 380 sheets, 760 pp - half leather binding, 16 x 11 cm, 19th century - endpapers, first pages and title page full of 16th century manuscript notes. All kinds of annotations in the margin throughout the book, probably from 1580 The Archbishop of Toledo 'Bartholomeus von Carranza' (Spanish: Bartolomé de Carranza; 1503-1576) studied in Alcalá de Henares, joined the Dominican order there, and soon made such a name as a professor of theology in Valladolid that Charles V. sent him to the Tridentine Assembly in 1546 and used him for other important missions. Carranza was later suspected of heresy and had to defend himself first in Spain and later in Rome. Only after a total of 18 years in prison was his sentence pronounced and Carranza acquitted.
