Aesthetic Research Centre, 1976. Complete set of Pieces. 1-3 as well as the revised second edition of Pieces 1. Three (4) anthologies edited by Michael Byron. Maple, Ontario/Vancouver/ Downsview, Ontario, Aesthetic Research Centre. 1976-1977. Cover art by Jacqueline Humbert. Full of scores of the "conventional" and less than conventional type. Essays as well such as "When The Virus Kills The Body And Is Buried With It, The Virus Can Be Said to Have Cut It's Own Throat" by Robert Ashley. The first edition of Pieces 1 bound in wraps has coffee staining primarily affecting the back cover, the last several pages and the outside of the test block. Top and bottom of spine where it meets front cover has small tear Another small tear back cover top left. Minor creasing and edgewear. Spine sturdy, inside clean and unmarked. This edition has artwork by Victoria Brown accompanying Peter Garland's piece that was removed from the second revised edition. Also featured are David Mahler, Tom Nixon, Michael Byron, Marion Brown, Harold Budd, Frederic Rzewski, Richard Teitelbaum, David Rosenboom, John Grayson and James Tenney. The hard cover second revised edition has cracking and tears to the top of the spine as well as bends (with - couple minor tears) to the four corners at the text block. Still a sturdy binding, inside clean & unmarked. This edition has a piece by Stephen Von Heune that doesn't appear in the first edition.
