THE POOLE HARBOUR DISTRICT by JOHN CONRAD CHERRY 1938 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ John Conrad 'Con' Cherry was an English rower, competing in the 1936 Olympics, and was a member of the Brasenose College rowing team from 1934-38. In 1937 he became President of the OUBC. After being commissioned into the Royal Navy, he was killed in action in 1943. He was survived by his widow and one daughter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a unique unpublished thesis by Con Cherry, dated and signed 1938 on Poole Harbour, The Lower Basin of the River Frome in the County of Dorset. 4to.(10x8 ins) Bound in green cloth, containing numerous typewritten pages on one side only, with photographs throughout taken by Con depicting the area. To the rear is a pocket in which is enclosed the maps used in the dissertation (10) All annotated by Con in meticulous handwriting.
