Gentle sunning to spine and upper board edges, moderate offsetting to endpapers, with faint foxing to text edges, and contemporary owner's name neatly rubbed-stamped on front pastedown; Very Good+. Dustjacket is unclipped (priced $2.00), showing modest wear and scattered foxing, a few shallow losses and faint splash marks, a triangular chip to lower edge of front panel, and several closed tears and attendant creases, two of them tape-mended on verso; Very Good only. Since it was first published by Gallimard as L'Etranger in 1942, Camus's first-person narrative of solitude and disaffection has become a classic of existential literature, and the basis for the 1967 Luchino Visconti film starring Marcello Mastroianni and Anna Karina.
