Complete with the 3 engraved title pages for each part, 74 numbered etchings, and 1 internal blank between parts 1 and 2. Entirely engraved throughout. Each etching of each order has a corresponding etched descriptive text on the verso. Cont. calf, rebacked some time ago. Top of spine and outer corners of the covers a bit rubbed. In this copy, very clean with wide margins, all of the leaves have been ruled in red. Very good +. A beautiful early 17th century etched book, illustrating the habits of religious orders and their coats-of-arms, with a brief history of each order. The artist, Fialetti, worked with Tintoretto in Venice. Cicognara 1649; Colas 1060; Lipperheid 1855 (with a plate). [Attributes: First Edition]
