Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 1914. Decorated red cloth. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author on the front endpaper: "To Elon H. Hooker/with best wishes of/Andrew Carnegie/February 28th 1917." Elon Huntington Hooker (1869-1938) was a chemist and hydrodynamic engineer who founded Hooker Electrochemical Company in 1905. His daughter, Blanchette, married John D. Rockefeller III. Another daughter married writer John Marquand. Covers soiled; paper splits to hinges but covers very tight. Very Good overall [Attributes: Signed Copy; Hard Cover]
