Quarto (32 x 25cm), pp.[12] 712 [2]; pp.[10] 596 [2]; pp.[2] xlii [10] 775 [3]. With numerous in-text and full page engravings by Selous, a facsimile and transcript of Shakespeare's Will, and a 'Life' of the Bard. Contemporary navy half morocco with gilt titles and decoration to spines, and blue leather grain-effect cloth over boards. All edges speckled red; marbled endpapers. Lightly toned throughout; text blocks musty and very slightly rippled. Some spotting to first and final leaves. Light rubbing and bumping to bindings, with some gentle re-colouring to corners, joints, and head / tail caps. Some evidence of damp staining to cloth over boards. Very good. A fine illustrated edition first published by Cassell, Petter & Galpin in the 1860s. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
