Aldous Huxley
Aldous Huxley / Brave New World 1932 First Edition #305898
Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Doran & Company, 1932. Brave New World Aldous Huxley. First Edition 311 pages. Huxley's best-known work, a distopian novel that warns of the perils of technology. [Thumbnails Below] Brave New World Author: Huxley, Aldous Publication: Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Doran & Company, 1932 Edition: First Edition Binding: Hardcover Condition: First American trade edition (stated), following a 250-copy signed limited. A decent copy and priced accordingly. The stamping on the spine is faded, as usual; there is a previous owner's name dated 1956 on the front free endpaper; and the top stain is faded. The jacket has a large tear on the front panel, extending to the bottom of the title. It has been repaired, somewhat unconventially, with a mailing label on the back of the jacket. It's not what I would have done, but the affected text on the front of the jacket is neatly aligned, so it works. The US edition is much less common than the UK. Description: 311 pages. Huxley's best-known work, a distopian novel that warns of the perils of technology.
