Kellar, Harry
A Magician's Tour; Up and Down and Round About the Earth: Being the Life and Adventures of the American Nostradamus -- inscribed to the author's aunt
R. Donnelly & Sons, 1886. First printing. Hardcover. Inscribed in pencil on first blank: "Aunt Mattie, with best wishes & regards of Harry Kellar." 8vo, beveled blue cloth gilt, very good, lightest rubbing to tips and corners. 214 pp, plus the 25 pp. "Kellar's Aids in Arithmetical Calculations." Illustrated. Kellar was the greatest magician of his time and Houdini's mentor. Rare to find inscribed, and to someone so close to him. A copy inscribed to George Middleton fetched nearly $2300 at a Potter & Potter auction in 2016. (George Middleton was a minor circus operator with the Cooper & Bailey Circus." Very Good.
