North Dakota, California, New York, Wisconsin, Canada, and India: 1920s. Fine. Softcover. Oblong quarto measuring 12"x 7". String tied with faux marbled reptile skin over flexible boards. Contains 369 gelatin silver black and white or sepia toned photographs measuring between 0.5" x 0.5" and 5" x 3" with some captions. A small abrasion on the front board with bumped corners, about fine with fine photographs. A young woman's photo album from Marinette, Wisconsin detailing her time with her farming family, her husband's baseball team, and working as a teacher in the early 1920s. The album includes some photographs taken in North Dakota, California, New York, Wisconsin, Canada, and India while the young woman was traveling to visit several waterfalls and water dams. Niagara Falls, Hemis Park, the Peshtigo dam are just a few of the captioned locations, the young woman enjoyed visiting. Included are some nature shots of the locations but the focus of the pictures is always on the water. Other photographs are of family members and friends while the girl lived on a farm with her family and later her husband and children. One of the pictures shows her dancing in an open field captioned, "Alone in the prairie." Pictures of thanksgiving and other celebrations are included as well as family picnics and camping trips. One picture is captioned, "The family and the Ford," with the young woman and her family standing around their Ford automobile before heading off to another trip though occasionally they are seen traveling in horse drawn carriages as well.
