Essential Books, New York, 1945. 243p. A hardcover book in very good condition with an acceptable dustjacket. Head and foot of spine lightly bumped. Otherwise, pages clean and binding tight. The jacket is quite chipped, with pieces torn off top edges and corners and slightly less so along the bottom; the largest chipped-off section is approximately 1 square inch. Mild dampstain at foot of spine as well. Otherwise, jacket is largely intact, though noticeable damaged. Scarce in dustjacket. Stated on front flap of dustjacket as "Second Large Printing." A classic photographic study of the people and culture of New York City, with stunning candid shots of commonors and elite engaging in various urban activities. "Weegee" was the pseudonym of Arthur Fellig. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover; In Dust Jacket]
