It is an ex-library book that has been rebound in blue hardcover binding. There is a bookplate in the front and the rear and stamp marks on the title page and several other pages throughout. There is some light wear to the outside boards. A few pages have some light foxing, but most of the book is clean. This is the Limited edition, printed by John Lane the Bodley Head in 1926. It is #837 of only 1,000 copies printed on Japon Vellum Paper. A hard to find edition of Joyce's classic work. Synopsis Ulysses is a novel by James Joyce, first serialized in parts in the American journal The Little Review from March 1918 to December 1920, then published in its entirety by Sylvia Beach on February 2, 1922, in Paris. Ulysses chronicles the passage of Leopold Bloom through Dublin during an ordinary day, June 16, 1904. The title parallels and alludes to Odysseus , the hero of Homer's Odyssey. Joyce fans worldwide now celebrate June 16 as Bloomsday. Since publication, the book attracted controversy and scrutiny, ranging from early obscenity trials to protracted textual "Joyce Wars."
