II after Gravelot, 200 engraved plates of music (for piano and flute), most with large pictorial vignettes by Bickham after Gravelot and Watteau. 2 vols. Folio. A collection of airs and songs, fully engraved throughout with 200 plates of music by Handel, Purcell and others and richly ornamented with vignettes by Watteau and Gravelot. Foyle (bookplate, his sale Christie's, 12 July 2000, Lot 500); Robert S Pirie (bookplate, acquired from Quaritch, 2005) Contemporary red morocco in the Harleain style, covers with wide outer border of two gilt rolls and inner dentelle, with central lozenge of small acorn and floral tools, spine in 7 compartments with raised bands. Extremities rubbed, small tear at foot of vol. I spine, some wear to vol. I title and repair to fore-edge margin of following leaf, repaired tears to plates 28 & 66 in vol.
