Collated, complete. ESTC reference number T138497. The author, Humphrey Prideaux, was the Dean of Norwich for many years. He had sympathies to Low Churchism in religion and to Whiggism in politics. He published many political and religious pamphlets as well as his 'The Old and New Testament connected in the History of the Jews and Neighbouring Nations' which was one of the earliest English works to use the terminology 'Vulgar Era'. CONDITION In a full calf binding. Rebacked, with the original boards preserved. Externally, very smart, with just some minor shelfwear to the extremities. Prior owner's inscription to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, with just the odd spot.
