First Edition. Curious work considering the construction of the language, the logical structure of the discourse, the use of words, their classification and evolutions. Following the example of the pedagogical exercises in antiquity, the author created linguistic "experiments" on excerpts by Virgil, in which he would put some of his theories into practice.German physician and humanist Jodocus Willichius (1501- 1552), professor of rhetoric and specialist in classical Greek authors, wrote an important book on cookery published after his death in 1563 by great naturalist Conrad Gesner, and entitled "Ars Magirica" (cf. Vicaire, 875-76). He also wrote a treatise on farming and farm produce, as a commentary on The Georgics by Virgil published in 1539. This book is based on the latter work.
