Format: 15.5 x 23 cm Binding: hard Pages: 476, Cyrillic Weight: 900 g Condition of the book: the edges of the back and the corners of the cover are worn, the paper joint of the front cover and the front page is disassembled - the canvas is undamaged, the front sheet and zero sheets have the most, some other sheets have much less yellow spots, the rest is completely preserved MIHAJLO-MIĆO LJUBIBRATIĆ (1839-1889), Serbian duke in Herzegovina, participant and leader of the revolt against the Ottoman Empire, state official in Serbia and translator. He was born in 1839 in the village of Ljubovo in Trebinje, in a prominent medieval Serbian noble family Ljubibratić. He studied elementary school in the monastery of Duži, and finished the Italian classical high school in Dubrovnik, where he became acquainted with the revolutionary ideas of Giuseppe Macini and Giuseppe Garibaldi, fighters for the unification and freedom of Italy. Imbued with these ideas, he joined the Herzegovinian insurgents in 1857 as an interpreter, representative and secretary to the leader of the uprising, Luka Vukalović. After the collapse of the uprising, he went to Russia with Vukalović (1863), but after six months he returned to Belgrade, where he lived and worked as a clerk. He always had a great love for Herzegovina and a desire for its liberation from the Ottomans.
