The DNB states that she announced to her mother 'they will make my name'. 'Ariel' contains forty poems, which was taken from a manuscript by Plath. Edited by her husband Ted Hughes, who altered Plath's chosen selection and arrangement. He dropped twelve poems and added twelve composed a few months later and altered the poems' ordering. Hughes was assisted by his sister Olwyn, Plath's literary executor for this work. A superb copy of this work, which is a significant post-war poetry collection. CONDITION In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear. Dustwrapper is in an excellent condition also.
