CADOGAN (William, 1st Earl of Cadogan, Irish-born British army officer, 1671-1726); WOOD (Cornelius, military leader during the War of Spanish Succession, colonel in 3rd Dragoon Guards, c1637-1712); LUMLEY (Henry, British soldier and Lt-General, fought at Blenheim, c1658-1752); KILLIGREW (Robert, killed in 1707 at the Battle of Almanza, baptized 1660-1707); ROSS (Charles, Scottish general and member of parliament, 1667-1732). Manuscript order signed by 7 Horse and Dragoon commanders at Borchloen camp in Westphalia, docking the pay of troops by 1 gilder per month, to help towards the cost of the judge advocate, 10th August 1703. Manuscript in brown ink. Written on one side of a bifolium of laid paper, watermarked with a large shield and initials 'IS'. With place and date 'Camp at Borchloen this tenth day of August 1703'. ' Seven signatures at foot, Docketed on rear 'Judge Advocate'. Size: folio - page size 30.3cm x 20cm. Very Good to Good condition. Light creasing. Age-toning to paper. Folds for despatch. Ink smudge to foot of page, not affecting signatures. A few small tears to cross-sections of folds. Please ask if you require a more detailed condition report, or view gallery images. An highly interesting, and apparently unrecorded, manuscript order, docking the pay of every soldier in the Dragoons and Horse regiments.
