[Photo Album]: Young Women at Summer Camp
New Hamsphire: 1933-1937. Near Fine. Hardcover. Oblong small quarto measuring 11.5" x 8". String-tied brown leather over stiff paper boards. Contains 13 black and white or sepia toned silver gelatin photographs measuring between 3.5" x 4.5"and 7.5" x 9.5" with captions. Near fine photo album with some edgewear and tiny tears with fine photographs. A photo album kept by a young woman at Winnemont summer camp in New Hampshire between 1933 and 1937. The album is full of large, professional photographs depicting activities at the camp. The first two photos show the campers performing a version of *Madame Beaueaire" showing the costumes actors on stage. The sports teams from these years are also featured in group photos posed with the tools of the sport including hockey, basketball, and tennis. There is also a photo of a lodge with campers eating lunch with a banner that says "Winnemont" in the distance. The final two photos show a group shot of "the class of 1937" and a photo of 9 young women with the caption "baby day 1937." A modest but nice collection of photos depicting a 1930s girl's summer camp.
