One of the greatest botanical plate books. 44 stunning full page hand coloured plates drawn and engraved by William Clark, dated 1825 or 1826. The clarity and colouring and atmosphere of these hand coloured plates is of the highest order. Plates include: · Verbena Lamberti, · Lilium Pomponium, · Robinia Hispida, · Potentila Nepalensis, · Daphne Cneorum, · Magnolia Pureurea, · Aquilegia Canandensis Gracilis, · Paeonia Moutan (double page). All in the original paper wrappers which make this set even more desirable to collectors. In their original state. The plates are generally clean and bright without browning.
