Spawn Press, 1975. 4to, each issue consisting of loose leaves, found objects and pageworks, including seed packets, photographs, booklets and appropriated materials, housed in a printed and blind-stamped card folder. Each issue limited to 200 copies. A complete run of the mid-1970's assemblage magazine published out of the Art Department of the University of Akron. The second issue of the periodical is notable for including a supplement entitled "The Partially Buried Woodshed: A Sculpture by Robert Smithson", issued as a supplement, which documents the controversy of the artist's infamous sculpture on the Kent State Campus. Laid into this copy of the periodical is a carbon typescript of a letter from the Art Historian Richard Speare, addressed to Glenn Olds, the president of Kent State, urging that the sculpture be preserved. Though not denoted as such, this run of the magazine is from the collection of Athena Tacha and Richard Speare. The sculpture was destroyed in 1984. With contributions across the issues from Michael Cianchetti, Frank Detillio, Donald E. Harvey, Michael Horvath, James Lenavitt, Craig Lucas, William Price, John M. Contents near fine; envelopes very good with light bumping to extremities and a torn enclosure to one envelope.
